About

I'm Ashley Kebapetse, a final-year Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA)student at Botswana Accountancy College expected to graduate in 2027. I'm passionate about combining my analytical thinking with hands-on technical skills to transform raw data into meaningful insights that drive real business decisions.

During my 5 month industrial attachment at Debswana Diamond Company,I gained hands-on experience across five IT units which includes building interactive dashboards in Power BI, writing SQL queries for workforce analytics, exploratory data analysis and data literacy. Conducting cybersecurity risk assessments, administering SharePoint environments and managing vulnerability patching. I also earned certifications along the way. Outside the attachment growing up in Botswana, watching the diamond industry shape everything around me made analyse its labour market.

What sets me apart is my ability to work across both the analytical and technical sides of IT. I don't just build pretty charts, I understand why the data looks the way it does, and I know how to present those insights to stakeholders in clear, honest, and actionable a way.

Employee Attrition Prediction Model

A machine learning model that predicts which employees are most likely to leave an organisation, using the IBM HR Attrition dataset combining data analytics, visualisation, and predictive modelling. View

Botswana Labour Market Analysis

A data-driven analysis of Botswana's labour market using publicly available data from the World Bank, covering unemployment trends from 1999–2025, youth unemployment rates, gender workforce participation gaps, and sectoral employment shifts. Built using Python (pandas, matplotlib, seaborn) with an interactive Power BI dashboard. The analysis contextualises Botswana's labour market within the Southern African region and identifies patterns relevant to workforce. view

Botswana Labour Analysis

Data loading and Cleaning

The screenshot show the data loading and cleaning done in excel to prepare for visualization.

Loaded 8 datasets in excel from the world bank open data.

Removed top 4 rows and columns(< 1999), then selected 6 countries.

Reshaped the dataset in preparation for merging the 8 datasets in power query, then checked the datatype and column names.

Merged the 8 datasets in power query using country code and year as the keys, then used the full outer join to keep all rows even if there is missing values.

Selected the field value from the other 7 datasets to only show in the merged dataset.

EDA via jupyter notebook

The project continues in the jupyter notebook, exploring Botswana’s labour market dynamics, focusing on unemployment, GDP growth, youth unemployment, gender participation, social risks and more. It combines data analysis with contextual insights to highlight economic vulnerabilities and opportunities. It also demonstrates contextual data literacy. View Project

Debswana Diamond Company

During my 5-month industrial attachment at Debswana Diamond Company, I gained hands-on experience across five IT units.

Data Analytics

Designed interactive Power BI dashboards utilising one or many datasets, wrote SQL queries for workforce KPI extraction, and conducted full EDA pipelines on datasets. Led a Power BI training session and earned Azure certifications.

Cybersecurity

Conducted patch management, managed Qualys vulnerability scan jobs, and performed risk assessments review on IT governance reports using a Risk assessments framework then reporting the findings, lastly earned Qualys certifications

Applications

Built and administered a demo SharePoint environment including pages, document libraries, Power BI integrations, and access control.

Infrastructure & Service Desk sections

Created and configured virtual machines in VMware, created user accounts, and prepared IT governance audit reports for internal and external compliance.
